My research and teaching interests are in molecular biology, microbiology and parasitology. I am principally focused on researching Human African Trypanosomiasis, a neglected tropical disease of sub-Saharan Africa.

I am a Wellcome Trust funded research fellow. Apart from lengthy stays working in Kenya and Cambridge, he has spent his academic career in Scotland, at the Universities of Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Dundee as well as St. Andrews.

My research and teaching interests are in molecular biology, microbiology and parasitology, principally researching lipid metabolism in Human African Trypanosomiasis.

Using mass spectrometry I am also performing lipidomics on medically important microorganisms and insects.
