Guidelines for talks - NOTE INCREASED TIME ALLOCATION
Accepted talks will each get a 25 minute slot. You should plan your talk to last for about 20 minutes and then allow 5 minutes for questions. Please practice your talk beforehand to make sure you will allow time for questions. Session chairs will be asked to keep strictly to time. You will be required to provide your presentation file to the session chair prior to the start of the session. If you are using video or sound files please ensure that you bring the files with you to make sure they will be available during your talk - not making sure the video works has ruined many a fine presentation! A computer running Windows will be available to speakers. You will need to bring your presentation on a USB memory stick. PowerPoint slides must be compatible with PowerPoint 2007. To enable visibility, we recommend using at least 36-point font text size in your presentation. It will be possible for you to use your own laptop for your presentation, and you may prefer this option if you are presenting video or sound files. In this case, please ensure that you bring the connecting wire to plug in to the projector (we are unable to provide these since different laptops require different versions). We cannot guarantee that Apple Mac computers will be available, so if you are a Mac user it might be worth considering bringing your own computer. If you need any other audio-visual facilities, please let us know by 20 February.
Guidelines for posters
Posters should be 60 cm wide by 84 cm tall (i.e. A1 size, portrait). Please note, we will not be able to accommodate larger posters, or posters in landscape format, due to demand and available space. Boards and pins will be provided. We expect presenters to be with their posters as much as possible during the allotted viewing times. There will be a prize for the best poster presentation.
