£1M EPSRC Award

Frank Gunn-Moore and Kishan Dholakia (School of Physics) have been awarded ~£1M from the EPSRC to translate their novel photoporation technology into commercially available devices.   The new technology will allow the precise poration of cells to allow various biologically relevant molecules to be introduced into cells.

Four postdoctoral positions over 3.5 years will translate, in collaboration with several optical commercial businesses, their previously successful laboratory research into producing novel optical transfecting devices which can inject membrane impermeable compounds into cells.
