Interdisciplinary Centre for Human and Avian Influenza Research (ICHAIR)
The SFC has agreed to fund a Strategic Research Development Grant (SRDG) called ICHAIR, at a level of around £2M. This mainly involves researchers at Edinburgh and St Andrews, with a smaller input from Glasgow. The St Andrews participants are
Richard Elliott, Rick Randall, Rupert Russell, Martin Ryan and Garry Taylor. The Centre will focus on mechanisms of pathogenesis, the development of new antivirals and vaccines, epidemiology and modeling outbreaks.
