The School of Biology is distributed across five principal sites in St Andrews:

- The Medical and Biological Sciences Building
- The Bute Building
- The Sir Harold Mitchell Building and Dyers Brae House
- The Scottish Oceans Institute and Sea Mammal Research Unit
The MRes in Marine Mammal Science is primarily being taught at the Scottish Oceans Institute, East Sands Beach.
