The flume suite holds an Armfield flume which is an eight meter tilting flume. It also has a sediment loop which allows it to be used to visualise sediment dynamics under a unidirectional flow. A false floor allows field samples to be tested under regulated conditions.

The flow rates of the water are measured using such devices as the ADV and a Nixon flometer.
