Food-web connections across land- and water-scapes: from the Maine coast to the Colorado Rocky MountainsAmanda KlemmerUniversity of Maine

Food webs are connected by the movement of organisms between perceived ecosystem boundaries. However, there are multiple anthropogenically induced disturbances that can alter those cross-ecosystem food-web connections, such as natural resource harvest or climate-induced species range shifts. This talk will focus on two seemingly disparate ecosystems, seaweed dominated rocky intertidal marine and high elevation freshwater systems, that both experience anthropogenically induced disturbance to food-web connections.
