The LUMICKS C-trap confocal optical tweezers microscope will be used by more than 22 groups across St Andrews,  Dundee and Glasgow to measure and apply forces from single molecules to entire cells and thus unveil mechanobiology aspects that are crucial for normal cellular function and also important during disease development.
