Our submission noted that \u201c<em>Staff have not only been supported to attend Aurora workshops, but the impact on individuals in terms of their progression and on the School in terms of increasing women in leadership roles is clearly demonstrated<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>We are now working on implementation of our action plan \u2013 the outcomes of which are recorded in many of our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/synergy.st-andrews.ac.uk\/bio-equalityanddiversity\/news\/\"><strong>news posts<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1195 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/biology.st-andrews.ac.uk\/edi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/06\/AS_RGB_Silver-Award.jpg?resize=258%2C160&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"258\" height=\"160\" \/>Athena SWAN Silver Award<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The School of Biology achieved a Departmental Athena SWAN Silver Award in May 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The submission and action plan can be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/biology.st-andrews.ac.uk\/edi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/05\/BiolDept_StAndrews_ASApplication_FINAL_retracted.pdf\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We received excellent feedback from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.advance-he.ac.uk\"><strong>Advance HE<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0: \u201c<em>This is a strong submission that evidences a track record of effective activity. Equality and diversity work is clearly embedded in the school, rather than being driven by Athena SWAN cycles. The school is a leader within the institution. Where there are areas that need further attention, these are recognised and actions are in place<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Advance HE also produce a resource highlighting examples of good-practice from each submission round.
