REF2029 panel appointment
Congratulations to Dr Anne Smith, who has been appointed to sub-panel 5 (Biological Sciences) of the REF2029 Main Panel A – Medicine, Health and Life Sciences.
Following a rigorous and open recruitment process, a highly qualified and diverse group of experts has been appointed across all 34 Units of Assessment (UoAs). From medicine, health and life sciences to the social sciences, and from physical sciences, engineering and mathematics to the arts and humanities, the calibre of applicants was outstanding, underlining the enormous strength of UK research. Each panel member will have a key role in shaping the REF to support the higher education sector by providing a rigorous, trusted assessment of UK research. Anne’s appointment to the panel recognises her outstanding research using computational methods to analyze complex biological networks within gene regulatory, neural and ecological systems. More information on Dr Smith’s research is available via her research website.
