Unfortunately two of our (male) speakers had to cancel at the last minute, but our remaining three speakers did an excellent job:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chance favours the prepared mind: Careers in and from Biology<\/strong><br \/>\nKaren McGregor, University of St Andrews<br \/>\nPhD \u2013 Microbiology (University of Western Australia)<br \/>\nCurrent \u2013 Equality and Diversity Awards Adviser at the University of St Andrews<\/p>\n<p><strong>Public Engagement with Research \u2013 career boost, sanity mode and exit strategy<\/strong><br \/>\nAlina Loth, University of St Andrews<br \/>\nPhD \u2013 Marine Biology (University of St Andrews)<br \/>\nCurrent &#8211; Public Engagement Officer for Science at the University of St Andrews<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enjoy the Journey<\/strong><br \/>\nSara Rankin, Imperial College London<br \/>\nPhD &#8211; Pharmacology (Kings College, London)<br \/>\nCurrent &#8211; Professor of Leukocyte and Stem Cell Biology at Imperial College London<\/p>\n<p>Speakers showed the multitude of career paths available from a Biology PhD or postdoc. Feedback for the session was positive with several comments such as \u201cinteresting finding out different career paths that speakers have taken\u201d, \u201cI honestly think this session was very well organised and would love to see a similar session next year\u201d, \u201cNice to have a reality check like this once in a while!
