Both events coincided with the start of British Science week.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/biology.st-andrews.ac.uk\/outreach\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2018\/03\/SD2018_Outreach_SMRU_CREEM_02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-943 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/biology.st-andrews.ac.uk\/outreach\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2018\/03\/SD2018_Outreach_SMRU_CREEM_02-300x178.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"178\" data-id=\"943\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/biology.st-andrews.ac.uk\/outreach\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2018\/03\/SD18_Outreach_SMRU_CREEM_03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-942 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/biology.st-andrews.ac.uk\/outreach\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2018\/03\/SD18_Outreach_SMRU_CREEM_03-300x181.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"181\" data-id=\"942\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/biology.st-andrews.ac.uk\/outreach\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2018\/03\/SD18_Outreach_SMRU_CREEM_01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-941 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/biology.st-andrews.ac.uk\/outreach\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2018\/03\/SD18_Outreach_SMRU_CREEM_01-170x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"170\" height=\"300\" data-id=\"941\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Danielle Harris, Popi Gkikopoulou, Marco Casoli and Filippo Franchini based themselves in St Andrews with activities relating to marine mammal acoustics and density estimation from acoustics.<\/p>\n<p>Charles Paxton, Rick Camp, Claudia Faustino, Gui Bortolotto, Janine Illian, Katherine Whyte and Catriona Harris based themselves in Dundee and ran activities showcasing a number of different methods for estimating abundance and used the SMRU photo-identification game to demonstrate mark-recapture methods.
