From the basalts outpouring at the mid ocean ridges to the dynamic interactions of climate at the land-ocean interface, Ocean and Earth Sciences embody a holistic view of the Earth System.<\/p>\n<p>At the core of Ocean and Earth System Science are natural cycles such as the hydrological cycle linking marine to terrestrial spheres and the carbon cycle linking biosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere.
