The report outlines how the maps can be interpreted and the extent of their limitations with a set of caveats. Appendix 1 describes methodology and software used.<\/p>\n<p>Grey seal (<em>Halichoerus grypus<\/em>) telemetry data from 1991-2011 and harbour seal (<em>Phoca vitulina<\/em>) telemetry data from 1991-2012 were combined with count data from 1988-2012 to produce UK-wide maps by species of estimated density and associated confidence intervals.
