The laboratory on the second floor is the location for some Pre-Honours practical classes, as well as Junior Honours practical classes for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also located on the second floor are the <strong>Biology Teaching Office<\/strong> and a the <strong>Student Hive<\/strong> (a student study and social space). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hive has working spaces with power supplies and wireless internet access. Chairs and sofas for more relaxed conversations and working, as well as a fully equipped kitchen area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lockers are available in the Hive, we encourage you to store all personal belongings here during practical classes. Commuting students in particular are welcome to use this space in between classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lab coats must not be worn in the Hive.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dyers Brae House and the Harold Mitchell Building<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sir Harold Mitchell Building and Dyers Brae House<strong> <\/strong>(collectively termed <strong>HMB<\/strong>) are in the gardens to the south of Queens Terrace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This building houses the Centre for Biological Diversity (CBD).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Scottish Oceans Institute (SOI)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Scottish Oceans Institute (<strong>SOI<\/strong>)<strong> <\/strong>on the East Sands is a marine research institute.
