Centre for Biological Diversity
Understanding and Protecting Biological Diversity
The Centre for Biological Diversity (CBD) is an interdisciplinary group of researchers across St Andrews focused on the measurement, origin and consequences of biological variation.
The Centre links researchers who work in traditionally distinct fields such as evolution, behaviour, ecology, molecular biology and biodiversity, plus researchers in other Schools across St Andrews.
Our objective is to advance scientific understanding of the diversity of life and contribute pro-actively to policy that protects biological diversity.
To achieve our goals, the CBD has recently renovated office and laboratory space, headquartered in Dyers Brae House, where we concentrate strengths in molecular genetics, biodiversity measurement and transforming biodiversity research into policy.
