Peter’s research has a strong focus on studying G Protein-Coupled Receptor pharmacology, and in particular their functional oligomerization. He recently co-authored the first structure of the Melanocortin Receptor (MC4R) in Science. His lab was one of the first to implement a biochemical fingerprint to identify GPCR oligomers in tissue as well as the first to use disrupting peptides to interrogate the function of these complexes. His lab is currently focused on identifying novel allosteric binding sites on several GPCRs with the aims of treating obesity, neurodegenerative diseases and inflammation.
