I am a Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Fellow at the School of Physics and Astronomy. My research ranges from material science to biophotonics and focusses on the development of novel microscopic lasers and their integration into living cells and tissue for biomedical applications. In 2014, I obtained a PhD from the University of Potsdam (Germany) studying fundamental processes in conjugated polymers and organic solar cells. I then started postdoctoral studies at the University of St Andrews, developing novel biological lasers.

Research areas:

  • Biointegrated nanophotonics
  • Biomedical research
  • Micro- and nanolasers
  • Translational medicine
